Cazana

Getting started

Sign in, find your way around the dashboard, and run your first lookup.

You reach Companion in the browser and sign in with the email and password your account manager set up. There is nothing to install.

Signing in

Go to companion.cazana.com and enter your email and password. If you have forgotten your password, use the link on the sign-in page to reset it by email.

If your organisation uses single sign-on, your account manager will have told you; otherwise the email and password is all you need.

The dashboard

Signing in lands you on the dashboard. It has two parts:

  • The lookup form, where you start every search.
  • Your recent activity, the vehicles you and your branch have looked up lately, so you can pick up where you left off.

You can open a quick lookup from anywhere in the app with Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K on Windows).

Running a lookup

Enter the vehicle's VRM or VIN in the lookup box and select Look up. Companion works out which you have entered, so you do not need to choose. See Identifying a vehicle for when to use each.

If your branch has both a valuation and a provenance product, a selector lets you choose which to run for this vehicle: Companion for a valuation, or AutoCheck or MotorCheck for a check. If your branch has only one, there is nothing to choose.

A few optional inputs refine the result:

InputWhat it does
MileageThe vehicle's mileage. Leave it blank and Companion uses an estimate for the date.
ReferenceYour own reference for the lookup, so you can find it again later. Available on valuations if your branch uses it.
Valuation dateValue the vehicle as at a past date rather than today, for example a date of loss. Available to branches entitled to backdate.
Include valuationOn a check, add a Cazana valuation alongside the provenance result. Mileage is required when this is on.

Branches and access

Your access is tied to the branch you are working in, not to you personally, and it follows your branch's contract. If you belong to more than one branch, the branch switcher in the top bar moves you between them, and the tools and figures on screen change to match.

This is why a colleague might see something you do not. If a tool is missing or greyed out, the active branch is not entitled to it, and your account manager can enable it.
